Relational Physics with Carlo Rovelli

Jun 8, 2018 from 10:00 to 19:00
University of Vienna (Austria)

The goal of the workshop is to provide a platform for exchange between researchers in Quantum Physics and related disciplines and Prof. Rovelli in an open and creative environment, starting from his proposed interpretation of Quantum Mechanics (namely, Relational Quantum Mechanics). The workshop will be divided into two parts:
- during the morning session (10:00 a.m.-12:00 a.m.), an interactive discussion among all the participants and the invited speaker will take place, following up on the discussion sparked by Rovelli's lecture on June 7th. Prof. Rovelli will be available during the whole morning session;
- in the afternoon session (14:00 p.m.-19:00 p.m.), the participants will outline relevant topics of discussion and divide into small groups. The groups will be organised by topic, and chosen such that participants at different stages of their scientific careers can brainstorm ideas and engage in critical analyses together.

The event is open to interested students (Masters and PhD level) and young researchers who work on topics related to Quantum Physics. It is free of charge with limited places available. If interested, please apply by sending a short Motivation Letter to application.relational.workshop@gmail.com by May 13th. Therein, please also indicate a few topics that you would like to discuss during the workshop. Notifications of acceptance to the workshop will be sent out by May 15th.
